The Story Of A Cake, KLM, And An Unexpected Customer Experience
During a recent flight with KLM, I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy a piece of cake in-flight and even more excited to discover the story behind it. Printed inside of the box was a little story sharing that it was a traditional Dutch cake baked in the old town of Spakenburg from a recipe that has been passed on for four generations.
While the amount of real estate on the box limited sharing more than this, itβs amazing how with those details, a simple airline treat became that much more special. For KLM, the free snack in economy class is but one element of the airline experience. However, in a time where most airlines do not even offer a free snack, the gesture and story behind the cake resulted in this frequent traveler feeling like KLM puts a lot of care and effort into every element of the customer experience.
And for those who may ask, yes the cake was delicious! π
